Voyadecir is a general-purpose translation and document-understanding tool. It is not a HIPAA-compliant service and is not intended to receive, store, or process Protected Health Information (PHI). It is not a FERPA-compliant system and is not intended to receive, store, or process student education records. Users must not upload medical records, insurance documents containing PHI, school transcripts, IEP/504 plans, disciplinary records, or other regulated sensitive data. Outputs are informational only, may contain errors, and must be verified against original sources or qualified professionals for legal, medical, financial, or official use.

What we collect

Voyadecir is designed to be privacy-first. Depending on how the site is configured and how you use it, the service may process:

• Text you submit for translation or explanation.
• Files you upload (such as images or PDFs) for OCR and interpretation.
• Technical data such as browser type, device info, timestamps, and basic request metadata needed to operate the service.

What we do not want you to submit

Do not submit sensitive regulated information, including PHI or education records covered by FERPA. If you choose to submit prohibited content anyway, you do so at your own risk.

How your data is used

• To provide translation, OCR, summaries, and explanations.
• To troubleshoot reliability issues (for example, OCR failures or formatting errors).
• To improve service quality and safety. (Where possible, we prefer minimal retention.)

Data retention

We aim to retain as little as possible. Some temporary storage may occur for processing (OCR, translation, PDF output, debugging). When debugging is enabled, limited diagnostic artifacts may be saved to improve reliability.

Third-party processors

Voyadecir may rely on third-party infrastructure providers and AI/OCR services to perform translation and document reading. Those providers may process submitted data strictly to provide the requested functionality, subject to their own terms and policies.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for what you upload and submit.
• You must verify outputs before using them for legal, medical, financial, immigration, academic, or official purposes.
• You must not use Voyadecir to violate any law, regulation, or third-party rights.

Security

No internet service can guarantee perfect security. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate for a lightweight web tool, but you accept the risk of using online services.

No warranties; use at your own risk

Voyadecir is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or error-free outputs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voyadecir and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to use Voyadecir in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $10 USD if you paid nothing, whichever is greater, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Voyadecir and its operators from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on this page.
